Last week, we carried out our first Human-Wildlife Conflict (HWC) training of the year, in Magoe National Park, in partnership with ReGeCom, bringing together 85 participants — 63 men and 22 women, including park rangers and local community members.

These are the people who live and work closest to the conflict. The ones who face the risks, protect the crops, and keep their communities safe.

Through this training, they gained hands-on knowledge in:

  • Monitoring wildlife movement

  • Preventing crop-raiding before it happens

  • Using non-lethal deterrents

  • Coordinating rapid responses when conflict strikes

Because HWC isn’t just a conservation issue — it’s a daily reality for families on the ground. And it demands real solutions.

This is just the first of many. As we move through 2025, we’ll continue to expand training across key regions — building a stronger, more prepared frontline of coexistence and protection.
